Suzuki has confirmed that it will launch the fourth generation Suzuki Vitara in Brazil. The company has announced that it’s bringing the Vitara soon to Brazil, but hasn’t revealed the launch date or any specific details as to the features and specifications planned for the country.
The 2016 Suzuki Vitara is available with three engine options in Europe.
The fourth generation Suzuki Vitara was introduced at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and entered production in March 2015. The Euro-spec 2016 Suzuki Vitara measures 4,175 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width and 1,610 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm and a ground clearance of 185 mm.
In Europe, the 2016 Suzuki Vitara is offered with three engines. The M16A 1.6-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit that develops 88 kW (117.96 hp) and 156 Nm of torque is the least powerful petrol engine. Another, more powerful petrol engine available is the K14C 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit that produces 103 kW (138.07 hp) and 220 Nm of torque in the Vitara S. Lastly, there’s the D16AA 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel unit good for 88 kW (117.96 hp) and 320 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.

Hyundai has launched two new variants of the Creta in the Indian market: the Hyundai Creta Anniversary Edition and Hyundai Creta E+ petrol.

Hyundai has introduced the Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition in the UK. The special edition i20 has been designed, engineered and built in Europe.
The Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition is powered by a 1.0-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine.
The Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition, as the name suggests, is powered by a 1.0-litre T-GDi turbocharged three-cylinder petrol motor producing 74 kW (100 PS) at 4,500 rpm and 171 Nm of torque at 1,500-4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Turbo Edition model has a CO2 emissions rating of 104 g/km and a fuel consumption rating of 4.5 L/100 km (22.22 km/l). Hyundai offers the 1.0-litre T-GDi engine model with a 6-speed manual transmission also, in which the turbocharged unit produces 88 kW (120 PS) at 6,000 rpm, while the torque output remains unchanged.
The Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition is based on the Hyundai i20 SE grade. Noteworthy features include automatic lights with dusk sensor, 16-inch alloy wheels, Black/Grey interior, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control with speed limiter, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and reversing camera.

Malaysia could get the Innova from the Indonesian manufacturing plant.
The 2016 Toyota Innova has been spied testing in Malaysia by Paultan reader Daran. Introduced first in Indonesia in November last year, the second generation Toyota Innova was launched in India just months back, in May, and has over 30,000 bookings to speak for.

F2M Global Mobility Database has released a report listing the best-selling cars in H1 2016 globally. Here are the world’s top 10 cars on the basis of sales during H1 2016.
1. Toyota Corolla – 6,34,298
Unsurprisingly, the top-most selling car during H1 2016 globally was the Toyota Corolla. Toyota managed to sell 6,34,298 units of the car. However, the sales declined by 1.2% compared to H1 2015 (6,41,850).
2. VW Golf – 5,00,630
Volkswagen sold 5,00,630 units of VW Golf during H1 2017 globally, which although being impressive given the “diesel-gate” scandal, was 1.8% lower compared to H1 2015 (508,829).
3. Ford F-Series – 4,78,384
Ford sold 4,78,384 F-Series pickup trucks during H1 2016 globally, registering a 12.6% growth from H1 2015 (4,24,884).
4. Ford Focus – 3,67,479
The Ford Focus, the VW Golf’s rival, witnessed a steep decline during H1 2016 from H1 2015 with the sales dropping by 16.4%, from 4,39,584 to 3,67,479.
5. Hyundai Elantra – 3,63,490
The Hyundai Elantra‘s sixth generation model is yet to show its colours globally, as the car’s sales declined during H1 2016 from H1 2015 by 9.7% , from 4,02,526 to 3,58,602.

The VW Polo is the only sub-compact car to have made it to the top ten list during H1 2016. However, the sales dropped by 1.8%, from 3,65,257 during H1 2015 to 3,58,602.

Toyota sold 3,46,791 units of the Toyota RAV4 during H1 2016, 10.8% more than it did during H1 2015 (3,12,993).

The Toyota Camry witnessed an 11.7% decline in sales during H1 2016 compared to H1 2015; the sales dropped from 3,84,421 then to 3,39,611 now.

Honda sold 3,33,697 units of the Honda CR-V during H1 2016, 3.9% more than it did during H1 2015 (3,21,038).

Suzuki is known to be working on the new Suzuki GSX R250 for quite some time now. In the latest, the new quarter-litre fully-faired motorcycle has been previewed in patent images revealed online by Australian Motorcycle News.
The Suzuki GSX R250 is expected to be powered by the Suzuki Inazuma 250’s 248 cc engine.
This isn’t the first time the Suzuki GSX R250 has appeared online; the new sportsbike was fully revealed in undisguised spyshots clicked at the company’s Haojue Changzhou factory in China. The GSX R250 was expected to be showcased at Auto Expo 2016, however, that wasn’t the case.
The Suzuki GSX R250 is expected to be powered by the 248 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder from the Suzuki Inazuma 250. In the Inazuma, this motor is tuned to produce 18 kW (24 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 22 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, and paired to a 6-speed transmission.
Suzuki Motorcycles India hasn’t revealed when it will launch the Suzuki GSX R250 India.

It’s unknown when the Suzuki GSX R250 will be launched in India. In a report released in February, Suresh Babu Janarthan, Project Leader for CBU Products at Suzuki Motorcycle India, was quoted saying “We will launch (the Suzuki GSX R250) when the time is right.” Its close rival, the Honda CBR250RR isn’t planned to be launched currently either.

The third-gen Hyundai i30 will be available as a 5-door hatchback, a 5-door estate and a coupe. In the U.S. and Canada and probably most markets outside Europe, only the 5-door hatchback should be offered though. There won’t be a 3-door hatchback version this time due to poor sales performance of the current i30 3-door.
The Hyundai i30 N will be the first road-legal Hyundai N performance model.

The next-gen Hyundai i30’s engine line-up will probably include the same units offered in the all-new Hyundai Elantra (1.6 CRDi, 2.0 MPi and 1.6 GDi). Transmission choices would be 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The next-gen Hyundai i30 range will also include a performance variant named ‘Hyundai i30 N’ that will be the first road-going N performance sub-brand model. Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the Hyundai i30 N will be pitted against the VW Golf GTI, the Ford Focus ST and the like.

Just weeks ahead of its launch, the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 has appeared yet again in a video. In a video published on YouTube channel ThrasherMotorbike, the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is shown being revved for its raspy exhaust note. The Pulsar CS400 will reportedly be launched this month, and is expected to be priced around INR 1.8 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will be the most powerful Bajaj Pulsar ever launched, and also the company’s new flagship model. Spy media as well as a recently leaked image suggest that the Pulsar CS400’s design and styling will remain largely unchanged from the concept at Auto Expo 2014.
The Bajaj Pulsar will be powered by a modified version of the KTM Duke 390’s 373.2 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This engine will feature the familiar DTS-i spark ignition system and channel power to the wheel via a 6-speed transmission. There’s no speak of a drive-by-wire system though, which will be present in the second-gen KTM Duke 390.

Dealerships have begun accepting bookings for the 2016 Hyundai Elantra in India for a deposit of INR 25,000. Indian Autos Blog contacted at least three dealerships of Hyundai India who confirmed the start of bookings for the new Elantra. However, an email to Hyundai Motor India’s communications department went unanswered at the time of publishing this story.

The Hyundai Creta has been spied testing in Brazil by Autos Segredos reader Nathalia Mourao. The Hyundai Creta, essentially the global version of the Chinese Hyundai ix25, will reportedly have its Brazilian debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in November.
The Brazilian-spec Hyundai Creta will be powered by the Hyundai HB20’s 1.6-litre CVVT flex-fuel engine.
An earlier report, citing Cassio Pagliarini, Marketing Director, Hyundai Motor Brasil, said that the company is yet to decide if it should go for the ‘Hyundai ix25’ branding or the ‘Hyundai Creta’ branding.
According to the Brazilian publication’s report, the Hyundai Creta will be offered in Brazil with the Hyundai HB20’s 1.6-litre CVVT flex-fuel engine that produces up to 128 bhp and up to 16.5 kgf.m (161.81 Nm) of torque. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic are likely to be the transmission choices.

The Renault Kaptur has been spied testing in Brazil yet again, courtesy Autos Segredos. The new crossover was introduced in Russia in March and will have its South American debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in November.

The Renault Kaptur is reported to be offered in Brazil only with the 2.0-litre 16V flex-fuel engine from the Renault Duster initially when it goes on sale in H1 2017. Four-wheel drive system, however, will be available only in the 2.0-litre engine model, that too optionally.

In March 2015, Daimler confirmed that it plans to launch the first Mercedes-Benz pickup in the market under the Mercedes-Benz Vans brand. Now, the Mercedes pickup (Mercedes GLT according to media rumors) has been seen in a spy video published on the walkoART YouTube channel.
The Mercedes GLT will be a one-tonne, mid-sized pickup. It’s being developed in cooperation with the Renault-Nissan Alliance. To be specific, it will be Nissan and Daimler who will jointly develop the vehicle. It will be available only in double-cab body style and be targeted at personal-use and commercial customers.
The Mercedes pickup will share some of the architecture with the third generation Nissan NP300 (Nissan Navara). The same pickup truck also spawned the first one-tonne pickup from Renault recently – the Renault Alaskan.

The Mercedes GLT will be built by Nissan in the Renault plant in Cordoba, Argentina, along with the Nissan NP300 and the Renault Alaskan, as well as in the Nissan plant in Barcelona, Spain. Production in both locations will commence by the end of the decade. The Mercedes GLT will be targeted at Europe, Australia, South Africa and Latin America.

Theophilus Chin has created a rendering of the next generation Perodua Myvi, which is expected to be based on the Toyota Passo hatchback. It could launch in Malaysia next year; almost six years after the current Myvi was launched.

As seen in the rendering, it combines the design cues of the Toyota Passo with the front-end of the Perodua Bezza sedan. The styling in the rendering looks slightly more sedate and mature than the current Myvi, which underwent a minor facelift this year.
It could also source the feature list from the Bezza sedan, where the top-end Advance trim gets keyless entry, push button start, touchscreen infotainment system, an automatic engine start/stop system and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) on range-topping variants.

Engines for the next gen Perodua Myvi could be sourced from the Toyota NR family, which includes the 1NR-VE 1.3 litre DOHC engine with Dual VVT-i producing 97 hp/121 Nm and 2NR-VE 1.5 litre engine with 104 PS/139 Nm. A 5-speed manual will be standard, while a 4-speed E-AT may be optional.

Could be manufactured at Toyota’s new engine plant in Jigani, Karnataka.
Autocar Professional reports that Toyota could manufacture small displacement diesel engines like the 1.4L D-4D at their new engine plant in Jigani, Karnataka, which currently produces the GD-series of engines for the Toyota Innova Crysta.
Currently, the 1.4L engine is imported from Japan, thus amassing custom duties and taxes that affect the final pricing.
The 1.4L diesel engine powers cars like the Toyota Etios and Etios Liva, as well as the Corolla Altis. Given that Toyota is rethinking new investments on the Indian market following the crack-down on diesel powered cars, there is still some uncertainty on its local production.
Should the engine go into local production, it will allow TKM to price its products more competitively. Currently, the 1.4L engine is imported from Japan, thus amassing custom duties and taxes that affect the final pricing of the car.

With Toyota looking to introduce a facelift for the Etios as well as a premium Honda City-rival (codenamed Etios C), competitive pricing could help push more volumes in the market. A locally manufactured engine attracts far fewer taxes, thus contributing to a competitive final price.
