BRASILIA Brazil held 10 presumed Islamist militants in isolation cells at a maximum security jail on Friday as police combed their computers and mobile phones for information about possible threats to next month's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil's Justice Minister Alexandre Moraes said after the arrests on Thursday that the men formed a disorganized group of "amateurs" who contacted each other via social media and had little clue of how to become terrorists. His statements, however, did not go down well at ABIN, Brazil's intelligence agency, or the Federal Police, where sources told Reuters the minister had underplayed the terrorist threat by portraying the group as a bunch of crazy young men

While China has given more than 400 million people legal rights over forest land, vast swaths of forestry in India are being degraded, leaving locals without landThere was a time when the area leading up to the village of Usku Dadjo in the state of Jharkhand, east India, was dense forest. But because residents did not have the right to manage their land, the forest was steadily degraded by outsiders. Now, only sand and scrub remain.Last year, the community started to reclaim traditional lands using India’s groundbreaking 2006 Forest Rights Act. While the community has not yet received any response from the government, residents have put up signs asserting their right to the land. Sharing its underpinnings with the Chevrolet Trailblazer, the Isuzu MU-X features a more contemporary styling that borrows cues from the new D-Max. It sports a chrome grille, flared wheel arches, 16-inch alloy wheels and a wraparound rear windshield similar to the Trailblazer.
The similarities with the Trailblazer are also seen inside. The MU-X comes with a silver accented steering wheel, 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, 6-speaker touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and navigation, roof-mounted 10-inch DVD monitor, climate control, split and fold second and third row seats, 12 cup holders and 19 cubby holes.

It’s unclear if the MU-X will launch with the smaller RZ4E-TC 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 150 PS at 3,600 rpm and 350 Nm at 1,800-2,600 rpm, or the 4JJ1-TCX 3.0-litre turbo-diesel motor that develops 177 PS at 3,600 rpm and 380 Nm at 1,800-2,800 rpm. With the 1.9-liter engine, Isuzu can sell the MU-X in Delhi-NCR where there’s a ban on diesel engines displacing more than 2,000cc.

Will have its world premiere on 1 September.
As its debut nears, the Skoda Kodiaq‘s marketing campaign has seen release of a set of new teaser images. Along with releasing the new images, the Czech automaker has also slipped in an announcement that the Skoda Kodiaq will have its world premiere in Berlin on 1 September. Then, at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the Skoda Kodiaq will have its public debut.
The Skoda Kodiaq will be the company’s first production mid-size crossover.
Previewed by the Skoda VisionS concept – also a design study showcasing the design language of future Skoda crossovers/SUVs – the Skoda Kodiaq is the company’s first mid-size crossover to be launched in the market. Once launched, the Skoda Superb‘s crossover equivalent will likely become the brand’s new flagship product.
The Skoda Kodiaq is based on the VW Group’s MQB platform and will be offered with three TSI petrol and two TDI diesel engines initially. A German media report from earlier this month said that the output of the three petrol engines will range from 125 PS to 180 PS (123.24 hp to 177.47 hp), while the the two diesel engines will produce 150 PS and 190 PS (147.89 hp and 187.33 hp). Transmission choices will include 6-speed manual and DSG dual-clutch automatic.

The BMW G310R is expected to launch in India this financial year.
The video below, shot in Russia by HM Channel, shows the BMW G310R alongside the KTM Duke 390 and the Yamaha MT-03, two of the key rivals of the G310R. The video allows for an enthusiast to listen to the G310R’s exhaust, and watch its acceleration in comparison to its rivals.
