The Hyundai Creta, essentially the global version of the Chinese Hyundai ix25, will reportedly have its Brazilian debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in November. The Brazilian-spec Hyundai Creta will be powered by the Hyundai HB20’s 1.6-litre CVVT flex-fuel engine. An earlier report, citing Cassio Pagliarini, Marketing Director, Hyundai Motor Brasil, said that the company is yet to decide if it should go for the ‘Hyundai ix25’ branding or the ‘Hyundai Creta’ branding. According to the Brazilian publication’s report, the Hyundai Creta will be offered in Brazil with the Hyundai HB20’s 1.6-litre CVVT flex-fuel engine that produces up to 128 bhp and up to 16.5 kgf.m (161.81 Nm) of torque. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic are likely to be the transmission choices. The Brazilian-spec Hyundai Creta will be made at the company’s plant in Piracicaba.
